Qubole Billing Guide¶
Qubole rents resources from AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle on your behalf as our customer, and runs queries and jobs against data in your Cloud storage account. You are responsible for the raw compute, network, and storage costs incurred in your Cloud account; you pay these costs directly to the Cloud vendor. Qubole charges a premium for its service based on usage.
Billing on Azure and Oracle BMC¶
Pricing is pay-as-you go, and is based on the instance (virtual machine) type. For details, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
QCUH on AWS and GCP¶
The Qubole Compute Unit Hour (QCUH) is a normalized unit of compute used for accounting purposes. It is defined to be equal to the use of one m1.xlarge instance for one hour in the us-east region on AWS. We normalize other instance types in different Clouds and regions on the basis of the current on-demand rates, and machine configurations.
The premium charged by Qubole is based on these units of consumption:
- Number of QCUH used
- Number of Users using Qubole
Our pricing includes an Elastic tier (in which you are billed based on consumption on a monthly basis) and convenient packages at fixed monthly rates.
